3D Furniture Design: Plan the Room Before You Buy
Built for a furniture retailer: a 3D room planner where pieces from the catalogue are arranged at real size before the order.
Pieces from the catalogue go into a 3D plan of the room at their real dimensions. The customer turns the room, tries colours and materials, and leaves with a design they can share.
Problem
Catalogue photos never answer the real question: will this piece fit in my room, and how will it look next to what I already have? Sizes were checked with a tape measure and a guess, and the customer, the store and the workshop each had a different picture in mind.
Solution
A 3D room planner built into the store: draw the room to size, place sofas, tables and cabinets from the catalogue at their true dimensions, view the room from any angle, switch fabrics, finishes and colours, and send the finished plan to the customer or the workshop with a link. It runs in the browser on desktop, tablet and phone, in two languages.
